Apple has given up its plan to release the fourth-generation iPhone SE, which was scheduled for next year, The Verge reported on the 6th (local time), citing Apple expert Guo Ming-chi.
Guo Ming-chi predicted last month that Apple may cancel or postpone the release of the fourth-generation iPhone SE. In other words, the report confirmed the outlook at the time.
Kuo Ming-chi analyzed that Apple's decision not to release the 4th generation iPhone SE was due to low-cost iPhone model sales falling short of expectations.
In fact, the iPhone 14, which was released last year, is also selling much better professionally than regular models.
In addition, concerns that raising iPhone prices could further reduce iPhone SE attractiveness to price-sensitive buyers were also analyzed to have affected the decision.
The iPhone SE, a low-cost model, did not sell as much as expected. As a result, the release schedule was jagged. The third-generation iPhone SE came out two years after the second-generation product was released.
